BENEFITING: KIDS N KAMP
EVENT DATE: Sep 17, 2014
Last year, Andrew Byrd, a father of one of Kids 'n Kamps childhood cancer survivors, rode his Kawasaki Concours 14 around the country completely alone besides his GoPro and cell phone, spending roughly 16 hours per day on his bike. This year he’s doing it all again.
10 days riding in 48 contiguous states touching 54 major cities covering 10,000 miles. All for Kids ’n Kamp - an independent, non-profit organization devoted to the social, educational, and emotional needs of families touched by childhood cancer.
Why? In 2005 Andrew’s son Ryan was diagnosed with Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma and throughout Ryan’s cancer journey, Andrew’s family received constant support from Kids ‘n Kamp. This year, Ryan will turn 22 and has a clean bill of health. Andrew is forever grateful to Kids ‘n Kamp for their unwavering support and compassion during the most difficult time in his family’s history. To express his gratitude, he will again be taking a trip around the country to give back to the organization that has given so much love and support to his family.
Whether you are a motorcycle enthusiast, a compassionate cancer supporter, or a corporation, you can help through one of three ways:
1.) Supporters may pave the way in fulfilling The Journey of Andrew Byrd by donating miles of giving. Every $10 donated buys Andrew a mile towards the completion of his goal. $10 = 1 mile, $100 = 10 miles, $1,000 = 100 miles.
2.) Attend the Launch and Welcome Home events to show your support for Andrew. More details can be found at http://www.kidsnkamp.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=85&Itemid=30
3.) Spread the word! Tell your friends and family, share our Facebook Page https://www.facebook.com/AndrewByrdsJourney or contact us if you would like to get involved.
Your sponsorship of Andrew’s journey will directly benefit Kids ’n Kamp.
