The Batonga Foundation is a nonprofit organization that was founded in 2006 by Grammy Award-winning, Benin Native, singer, songwriter, and UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador Angélique Kidjo.
Batonga’s mission is to support both secondary school and higher education for girls in Africa. We are doing this by granting scholarships, building secondary schools, increasing enrollment, improving teaching standards, providing school supplies, supporting mentor programs, exploring alternative education models and advocating for community awareness of the value of education for girls.
Education is the key to improving the quality of life in Africa because when 10% more girls go to secondary school, the African economy grows by 3%.
Your donation of $125 could provide one girl with her school enrollment fee, tutor/mentor costs, school supplies, uniforms, and money for sanitary materials for one year.
