EVENT: 2015 Boston Marathon
It is equally important for me to serve others as it is to compete. I work tirelessly to foster and mentor other visually impaired athletes and disabled veterans in endurance sports. To that end, I volunteer to coordinate the USABA National Marathon Championships for the Visually Impaired and proudly run the Boston Marathon as a member of the Massachusetts Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired's Team With A Vision. This year's race will be my third Boston Marathon with MABVI and my eleventh full marathon!
Being a resource to countless athletes and volunteer organizations across the nation brings me a tremendous sense of pride and self-worth. This year I am excited to be working closely with MABVI to launch United in Stride, a North American database that will unite visually impaired runners with sighted guides.
