The Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS). TAPS provides direct support to families who have been impacted by a death in the military regardless of geography or circumstance.
The funds flow directly into TAPS programming which supports these families through an amazing network of resources, seminars and publications. TAPS provides these services at no charge to survivors from all branches of the service, including Reserves and National Guard. TAPS' programs and services are available not only for immediate family, but also for extended family and friends. Please help us honor our fallen heroes by supporting me in this effort. $20 - Purchases "Klinger, A story of Honor and Hope" by Betsy Beard. This children’s book is based on a real horse that serves in the Caisson Platoon in Arlington National Cemetery this work of fiction was written for TAPS to honor all of American’s beloved fallen heroes.
$25 - Purchases a backpack for a military surviving child in TAPS Good Grief Camp which they can fill with new memories with their mentor, family, and peers.
$50 – Purchases a TAPS Survivor Resource Kit containing vital information and special items, designed to provide a personal resource as well as items of comfort and care to the newly bereaved.
$75 - Registers a child to attend a TAPS Good Grief Camp. The TAPS Good Grief Camp is American’s fist established program for children and teens who have lost a parent or sibling in military service. The camp features sharing, learning coping skills and having fun in a supportive environment.
$150 - Staffs the TAPS helpline for an hour, The TAPS National Military Helpline is staffed by trained professionals who are on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Grief doesn’t follow a normal ‘business day’ schedule. We answer calls anytime for help or information and spend as much time as necessary to help.
$250 - Enables TAPS to support an active duty / veteran military mentor assigned to a surviving child attend a TAPS Good Grief Camp.
