BENEFITING: JOHN RITTER FOUNDATION FOR AORTIC HEALTH
ORGANIZER: JOHN RITTER FOUNDATION FOR AORTIC HEALTH
EVENT DATE: Nov 03, 2013
Dear Friends and Family -
After running three half marathons over the last few months, I've decided to run the NYC Marathon this November. This will be my first marathon and I'm honored to be running the BIG 26.2 miles on behalf of the John Ritter Foundation for Aortic Health.
As many of you know, my sister-in-law's father, Scott Rosenzweig, suddenly passed away from an aortic dissection in February 2012. Among many things in life, Scott was an amazing father, husband, and friend. For those of you who were blessed enough to have known Scott, you know he always found a way to put a smile on your face and impart some wisdom; whether that was teaching you how to grill steaks out in Montauk, showing you a sense of style by walking Jackie down the wedding aisle in a suit and a pair of Vans, or simply telling you that all you need in life is enough money for a pizza and soda. Although Scott's life was cut short, he lived it to the fullest. Scott was one of my biggest fans in the lacrosse stands, so there's no better way to honor Scott than by raising awareness for aortic health in a competitive fashion such as the marathon.
My goal is to raise $3,000 which will provide support, information, and resources to individuals and families diagnosed with thoracic aortic aneurysms/dissections. The funds will also allow for research to identify the genes which predispose individuals to aortic and other vascular aneurysms/dissections.
If you'd like to donate to the John Ritter Foundation to help me attain my goal of $3,000, please do so via my Crowdrise page. Thank you for your support and if you have any questions relating to the funds or my training (cough, Dad), please don't hesitate to email me.
Thanks and see you at the finish line!
