BENEFITING: JOHN RITTER FOUNDATION FOR AORTIC HEALTH
ORGANIZER: JOHN RITTER FOUNDATION FOR AORTIC HEALTH
EVENT DATE: Nov 03, 2013
I am planning to run the NYC Marathon on Sunday, November 3. That means I will take two of my three personal days, fly to New York from Korea, run 26.2 miles, and hop on a plane again to teach high school kids English literature. It's sort of a marathon within a marathon.
As many of you know, John Ritter was my hero when I was in high school and I was devasted when he died suddenly of an aortic dissection in 2003.
I am very proud to be running on "Team Ritter," an official charity team in this year's ING New York City Marathon. My goal is to raise $3,000 for The John Ritter Foundation. I'm running for everyone who has had an aortic dissection and those who cared for them.
All funds go directly to The John Ritter Foundation for Aortic Health, which allows them to continue genetic research to identify genes or altered DNA that increases someone’s risk for an acute aortic dissection. By identifying who is at risk, we can prevent premature deaths due to aortic dissections.
