Help me raise awareness and funds towards a cure for Pancreatic Cancer.
Help me remember and honor a woman that I think of and miss every day.
I am getting the opportunity to take part in an event that honors the men and women who have dedicated their lives in service to this country and I am doubly honored to leverage this opportunity to run in memory of my mother, Anne McGuinness who dedicated her life to her family, her students, and anyone that crossed her path. I cannot count the ways that she influenced my life - from the appreciation for history and grammatical precision to the ability to recognize the hilarity of life and tell a good joke. She touched every life interacted with and left us all a legacy of goodness to remember and emulate.
Pancreatic Cancer is the 4th largest killer of all cancers and the least funded of the top 10 cancer killers today. I lost my mother in 2000. She left us less than a year after she was diagnosed and sadly over thirteen years later, although there has been some progress, most of those diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer face the same frightening outlook.
We need to do more - we have lost too many friends, family and loved ones to this evil cancer.
Thank you all for the support!
