The MEB Foundation emphasizes the imporatnce of Mainting Excellent Balance. This has not always been easy for me, especailly after having kids. I had these amzing little humans to care for 24/7 and I somehow slipped through the cracks. They ate great and gots lots of exercise and tons of attention from me but I let myself go. It wasn't until a year after my son was born that a friend encouraged me to run with her. A quarter mile at a time with tons of encouragment I worked up to a 5K. AMAZING!!! Through running I have a whole new support system and family, a new found energy that radiates through my entire household, and the love of dreaming BIG! My kids and husband are my biggest cheerleaders. We set and achieve goals together - encouraging healthy habits, taking academics and learning seriously and having fun being fit. We are all in this together!
My name is Melinda and I am so excited to be running the 2016 Boston Marathon for Team MEB. Running Boston has been a dream of mine since I started running and I cannot wait to make the 26.2 journey from Hopkinton! It is an honor to raise money for such a great cause. I truly believe that it takes a village to raise a child and I feel that the MEB Foundation is doing great work amongst our youth and communities.
