My name is Evan Wood and I have been battling Crohn's disease since the age of 14. Thanks to the support of The Children's IBD Program and Dr. Keith Benkov, I've been able to overcome the odds: I've run 4 NYC Marathons for Team IBDKids and 13 Half Marathons, attained my BFA in Film & TV Production from NYU Tisch School of the Arts, and last year, I won the 2016 Foot Locker Five Borough Challenge for my home borough of Manhattan. My resilience is fueled by the children who fight this relentless disease each day. My goal is to give them and their families hope– hope for a cure and to be able to achieve their wildest dreams. Crohn's can be a marathon of pain, uncertainty, hopelessness and costly treatment– but it won't stop me from running my 5th NYC Marathon this year.
Help us win this long distance battle by contributing to our cause! -Ev

Everyone running for Team IBDkids knows that Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, together known as Inflammatory Bowel Disease or “IBD”, are tough on kids. The Children’s IBD Program at Mount Sinai works every day to help these kids and their families cope and live normal, productive lives. IBD is a chronic, life-long disease. There is no known cure, its causes are only partially understood, and it can be debilitating.
But you can help. You can make our marathon run count. Your donation to Team IBDkids will be used to fund research into the cause and treatments of Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis and for support and education programs serving children with IBD and their families.
