BENEFITING: Action for Healthy Kids, Inc.
ORGANIZER: Action for Healthy Kids, Inc.
EVENT DATE: Oct 12, 2014
I have made a commitment to running in the Bank of America Chicago Marathon and to promote healthy living for myself and our society. Running to promote a healthy lifestyle and to fight childhood obesity is a perfect complement. I want future generations of children to be healthy and succeed in school and in life.
Childhood obesity is a major problem that needs to be addressed. More than 30% of American children are obese or overweight. This is triple the number than in 1980. Action for Healthy Kids is helping make a difference through several great programs. Check out their website www.actionforhealthykids.org to learn more.
With a donation of any size you can help them continue to impact the lives of our kids and get even more of these great programs in local schools.
Thanks for your support!
About Team Healthy Kids
Founded in 2002 by the 16th U.S. Surgeon General David Satcher, M.D., Ph.D., Action for Healthy Kids is a national 501c3 non-profit organization that addresses the childhood obesity epidemic by transforming schools into healthier places. Working together, we’re giving kids the keys to health and academic success by meeting them where they are – in the classroom, in the cafeteria and on the playground – with fun physical activity and nutrition programs that make it possible for them to eat nutritiously and play every day.
