BENEFITING: The Breast Cancer Research Foundation
ORGANIZER: The Breast Cancer Research Foundation
EVENT DATE: Nov 02, 2014
Well, here we go again...and hopefully after 26.2 miles on November 2nd we will have once again, TOGETHER, completed a marathon in conjunction with raising money for a great cause.
If you're reading this, you know that breast cancer has affected me in many different ways. I have been in awe over the years of the Jennifers and Maureens in our world. I want to take this opportunity to honor them and help support this effort for a cure in their names. My goal is to help raise funds so that no family has to follow in our footsteps. With your support for me and the rest of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation team, sooner than later this will become a reality.
You all know I am not a 'runner' by any stretch of the imagination. But as I did in Washington DC and in Boston, I will finish this race with your support, prayers, cheers and well wishes knowing that running through the 5 boroughs of New York on a cold November morning is nothing compared to the battle that Jennifer and Maureen have endured.
For those of you in the vicinity of NYC, I would love to see you on the course. Please accept this invitation to join me in the Big Apple. If you will be there in spirit, please also know that I have the utmost gratitude and respect for the love, care and concern that you have shown to me and my family for years.
Thank you in advance for your support.

Our BCRF marathon team is diverse—we are survivors, family members, employees, supporters, allies, professionals, runners, non-runners, and even researchers. But what we have in common is one thing: the desire and dedication to do our part to help bring about a cure for breast cancer in our lifetime. For over 20 years, BCRF-funded researchers have been at the forefront of nearly every significant breakthrough in understanding, preventing and treating the disease. We know that the answers continue to lie in science, and that the only thing standing in the way is research funding. With your help, together we can accelerate progress and achieve a world without breast cancer.
The Breast Cancer Research Foundation® is an independent 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization whose mission is to achieve prevention and a cure for breast cancer in our lifetime by providing critical funding for innovative clinical and translational research at leading medical centers worldwide, and increasing public awareness about good breast health.
