Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! I am participating in the 8th annual COLORADO PH IN THE PARK event to support Pulmonary Hypertension research and awareness.
This cause is very near and dear to my heart because my mom, Becky, fights this deadly disease every single day. Currently, she takes several oral PH medications, and is also on a life-saving continuous IV medication called Veletri. This medication is administered through a pump, worn 24 hours per day, which pushes the medicine through a catheter inserted into her heart.
Pulmonary hypertension is a rare, under-diagnosed, and often misdiagnosed disease. The disease causes high blood pressure in the pulmonary arteries. This makes it harder for the blood to flow through the lungs to pick up oxygen. This causes potentially life-threatening consequences such as right heart failure. When diagnosed in time, treatments can be administered that improve quality of life and may prolong it. At this time there is no cure; but we believe through research we will find the cure for PH.
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts. Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too! On behalf of myself, my mom, PH patients, family members, caregivers and friends, we thank you for your participation and support in this annual event.
