In October one of my favorite charities, The Nature Conservancy celebrates its 60th Birthday. On October 26 I celebrate a birthday (I am eight years behind TNC). As you may know, I am currently the chair of the trustees of the Michigan Chapter of The Nature Conservancy (read more about this here), and I am excited about our current effort to partner with other chapters to protect the Great Lakes.  This involves important work to combat aquatic invasive species like the asian carps, restore important coastal and near shore areas, and protect the northern forests and other working lands that make our region special.  One-fifth of the world's freshwater is here; we have a responsibility to be good stewards.  Thank you for your support.
