BENEFITING: Brigham and Women's Hospital
ORGANIZER: Brigham and Women's Hospital
EVENT: 2017 Boston Marathon
EVENT DATE: Apr 17, 2017
Dear Friends and Family,
We are excited to invite you to join us in a most meaningful venture. On April 17th we will be running the Boston Marathon with the Brigham & Women’s Hospital (BWH) Stepping Strong Team to raise funds for the Gillian Reny Trauma Center.
Upon learning of Gillian’s remarkably courageous story of turning her tragic Boston Marathon bombing pain into hope, and having experienced firsthand ourselves the exceptional care BWH provides, we immediately knew we had to get involved.
On April 15, 2013, Gillian Reny, an 18 year old high school student and aspiring dancer, was one of the many innocent bystanders critically injured at the finish line in the Boston Marathon bombings. She was rushed to BWH, where doctors and nurses worked heroically to save her life—and both of her legs. In gratitude to BWH, the Reny family established the Gillian Reny Stepping Strong Center for Trauma Innovation to help trauma patients like Gillian regain their strength and ability to step strong once again.
We joined the 2017 BWH Stepping Strong Team to do our part in helping advance BWH’s commitment to turn tragedy into hope for citizens, military personnel, and families worldwide who have been impacted by the devastation of traumatic injuries and events. Please support us by donating whatever amount you can.
Both we, and the entire Brigham & Women’s Hospital Stepping Strong Team thank you!
With all our love, gratitude and appreciation,
David & Joyce Petersile
