Macy's is excited to announce the 2017 Macy's Shop for a Cause Charity Challenge, a friendly fundraising campaign for US-based 501(c)3 charities and accredited schools. Participating organizations will compete for up to $300,000 in cash prizes.

Everything launches on Tuesday, July 11th at 12pm ET and runs through Wednesday, August 9th at 1:59:59pm ET.

• The organization that raises the most for itself online via the Challenge wins $100,000.
• Second place gets $50,000
• Third gets $25,000
• Fourth gets $15,000
• Fifth gets $10,000

There will also be weekly Bonus Challenges for organizations with an additional $100,000 in prizes available.

And, the best part of the Challenge is that even if you don't win any of the grand prize money, you get to keep the money you raise during the campaign. So, so great.

Macy's annual Shop For a Cause is a nationwide charity shopping event to benefit local and national organizations. Since 2006, Macy’s Shop For a Cause has partnered with accredited schools and nonprofits nationwide to raise tens of millions of dollars for their ongoing charitable efforts.

Last year, more than 4,500 local charities registered to participate in the annual charity event to raise critical funds to support their mission and impact local communities coast to coast. This year, Macy’s has teamed up with Crowdrise to host the Challenge and offer charities the opportunity to win up to $300,000 in cash prizes! As a thank you, each donor that participates in the Challenge will receive an exclusive Shop for a Cause savings pass.

Macy’s 12th annual Shop For a Cause will take place Thursday, August 10 – Sunday, August 13. Similar to previous years, Macy’s has designated the March of Dimes, the leading nonprofit organization in support of pregnancy and baby health, as the exclusive national beneficiary. During the event, Macy’s will invite customers in-store and online to give $5 to the March of Dimes and will receive the Shop for a Cause savings pass.

Thanks to the generosity of its customers and associates, Macy’s raised more than $3.6 million for the March of Dimes and other local charities across the country in 2016. Macy’s looks forward to another successful year!
