We raised more than $9,000 together...thank you
November 08, 2016
First let me say this: I've never been bashful about asking for money for a cause I believe in. So here I am again.
You're really supporting The V Foundation, an organization committed to funding the very best research. The V Foundation has served as my second home, and work place, for the last 8 1/2 years. I believe in our mission. Funding research saves lives.
Joe and I are committed to running this amazing race together in 2016. (I did it alone last year, because he was injured, and it is truly AMAZING.) Between us, we'll be in training a total of 8 months. We'll cover more than 800 miles. We'll each average about 30 miles per week.
People, we're running our butts off...will you please support us by making a donation to The V Foundation? Your gift makes cancer research possible. Thank you.
The V Foundation was founded by ESPN and former award-winning NC State basketball coach Jim Valvano. Coach Valvano was diagnosed with cancer in 1993. When he created the Foundation, he knew that it was too late for research to save him. But he spent his last months alive creating a legacy of hope for others diagnosed with this debilitating disease.
In the past 22 years, The V Foundation has awarded more than $150 million to cancer research and related programs nationwide.
Jim Valvano’s “Don’t Give Up . . . Don’t Ever Give Up!”® spirit is alive now more than ever. And it is the perfect motto to carry us through the largest marathon in the world. With continued support, we will forge ahead with innovative research. Join us on Team V or support us through a donation – either way, you are making a difference and saving lives.
