Compete for a Cure! Our all-women competition encourages fun and fitness while raising awareness for Breast Cancer.
Girls Gone Rx started with the idea of getting women together to benefit a great cause. We wanted to do something that showcased women’s strengths and weaknesses, because those are the two most important parts of battling something like cancer. You have to learn to be strong even when you’re feeling, but sometimes you also have to be willing to be weak and allow your team to support you. This team building event helps women learn to fight through obstacles and overcome them while learning to be strong, confident and fearless.
Our first competition was in 2012 and was hosted at CrossFit Eminence, the gym of Girls Gone Rx founder, Lindsey Marcelli. Ever GGRX event raises money for our breast cancer charity, Bright Pink. Everyone involved in the events, from judges to volunteers to vendors and athletes, are committed to the cause. This is not just another competition – it’s an energy-fueled event built on a shared belief in supporting something greater than ourselves.
About Bright Pink
Bright Pink helps to save lives from breast and ovarian cancer by empowering women to know their risk and manage their health proactively. Our goal is to become the most trusted resource for the understanding of breast and ovarian cancer risk.
With a focus on health rather than cancer, Bright Pink inspires women to make behavior changes that can greatly improve their lives. Through innovative digital tools and constituent centric marketing, we engage women in educational experiences to help them understand their risk and personalize their prevention plan. We leverage strategic media and brand partnerships to deliver these programs to women where they are, on their terms, and in their language.
When Bright Pink was founded in 2007, there were virtually no resources available for women with strong genetic or family histories of breast and ovarian cancer who wanted to be proactive about preventing a diagnosis. What started as a website and support network for high-risk women evolved into a national organization focused on meeting young women where they are—online, at their doctor’s office, at school, in their workplace, and in their communities— with the actionable information they need to understand their risk and take appropriate action to reduce their risk. In the 12 years since Bright Pink’s founding, the organization’s efforts have helped reach over 1.2 million women to date and shifted the national conversation around breast and ovarian cancer from one focused on awareness and treatment to one focused on action and prevention.
By fundraising, you’re helping Bright Pink teach women breast and ovarian cancer prevention and early detection. Every dollar raised helps us save more lives. Simply put, we can’t do it without you!
