This is a fund started by a former Sandy Hook Elementary student to gather support for the victims, families, and all others affected locally by the tragic shooting on Dec 14th, 2012. The funds are directed to the school's PTSA organization. Please help in any way you can.

Please post your ideas for how to use the money!

Here are some ideas that have come in:

1) Counseling for the survivors (children and families)

2) Funeral expenses for affected families

3) Scholarship fund supporting students at Sandy Hook Elementary

Several people have asked about where their funds will actually go. I contacted the organizers of this site and received the following info:

Crowdrise partners with Network for Good to process all donations.  Network for Good will send donations, less transaction fees, directly to PTSA Sandy Hook at the official address below.  Donations made in December will be sent no later than January 15th.

This is the address of the school. I have contacted the school to make sure they're expecting the funds in January, and will keep everyone updated on how the money is used.
