I'm proud to be running the TCS NYC Marathon to help children and adults with disabilities in NE and Central Pennsylvania served by Allied Services. Any size donation will help. Donate $30 in my honor and you'll be eligible to receive a cool moisture-wicking Ryan's Run exercise shirt.
I am very excited to be running in the New York City Marathon this year! I am a graduate of Widener University where I received a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. While there, I was a student-athlete on the swim team for 4 years, winning 2 Middle Atlantic Conference Championships and was on the 2010 Outdoor Track and Field Middle Atlantic Conference Championship team as well.
Currently, I substitute teach mostly at Hanover Area School District and work full time at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs - who helped provide me with this wonderful opportunity to be a part of Ryan’s Ryan and the Allied Services marathon team.
In the past, I participated in a few charitable races to help benefit different causes such as the Pittston Tomato Festival 5K Run, Bernie’s Memorial 3 Mile Run, Get Your Rear in Gear 10K Race, and most recently the Philadelphia Hot Chocolate 15K Race.
Upon completing my swimming career at Widener University, the only competitive sport as I get older seemed to be running. I find myself trying to improve my fitness endurance through running races. As a result, I do not just want to finish my first ever marathon, but I would like to finish it with good standing. I am looking forward to participating in this popular and worldwide event, and at the same time, doing it for such a great cause with people who share the same interests and choose to share their hearts to benefit others.
