This September I will be doing something that I would have considered impossible two years ago - I will be running a half marathon, all in honor of my Uncle Howie.
My Uncle Howie was one of the most compassionate and selfless people to walk this earth. He was someone you always wanted to be around, and most importantly, had the kindest heart. He passed away suddenly in April of 2011, leaving behind the perfect example of what it means to live a life full of happiness, family, friends, and what it means to be a good person.
Aside from his dedication to his family and friends, he served as Southampton Hospital’s Director of Respiratory Therapy since 1978. He loved Southampton Hospital and it was a place he held dear to his heart.
The Hamptons Half Marathon caught my attention because of it's support for Southampton Hospital. By running this race, I will be raising money in his name for a place that meant so much to him.
Thank you all for your support.
