BENEFITING: YWCA Utah
EVENT DATE: Oct 21, 2016
On October 21, 2016 I plan to go "Over the Edge" and rappel THIRTEEN STORIES to help raise awareness about domestic and sexual violence in our community and raise funds to support the ongoing services of the Salt Lake Area Family Justice Center at the YWCA.
In Utah 1 in 3 women will experience domestic violence during her lifetime and 1 in 3 women will experience some form of sexual violence in her lifetime. Both statistics higher than the national average.
The Salt Lake Area Family Justice Center (SLAFJC) provides survivors of domestic and sexual violence a safe and confidential space to begin to heal. Through collaboration with 14 community agencies, we provide critical services to survivors all in one location. After a violent incident, survivors may be left to identify and navigate these critical services on their own. By using the Family Justice Center model, the SLAFJC is able to offer these services through their respective agencies all in one location. When people seek help at the SLAFJC, they find trauma-informed, compassionate professionals who work with them to identify their needs, help them set personally meaningful goals for a path forward, and assist them in navigating criminal justice and other systems to obtain the resources they need to change their lives. For more information, visit the Salt Lake Area Family Justice Center page.
Please consider supporting me and helping me raise $1000 to go "Over the Edge" and support the work of the Salt Lake Area Family Justice Center.
If your interested in Rappelling with me Register Now. Your 165 foot descent down the Maverik Base Camp building will raise awareness and funds to support the SLAFJC. Rappellers will have to raise a minimum of $1,000. Only 90 Adventurers will have an opportunity to rappel, secure your spot today! I hope you'll join me and the Family Justice Center Partner Team.
