Thank you! You all made this possible!

Hello Supporters, As a parent of a child with a severe form of epilepsy (seizures), let me first say thank you for taking the time to consider donating. With your donation you have the ability to make a difference in the fight against epilepsy. Overall there are 3 million Americans that suffer with epilepsy and we need your help to find new and innovative medications to stop this debilitating disease. I have chosen to run the New York City Marathon to raise awareness and to run for my son Carson.
My 8 year old son Carson was diagnosed at an early age with Lennox-Gastaut syndrome. This is a difficult-to-treat form of childhood onset epilepsy that causes frequent and multiple types of seizures. According to a study, only 1 in 50,000 people will be diagnosed with this type of epilepsy. There are very few effective treatments to help control the severity of my son's seizures. Over the years we have tried multiple meds and have been able to reduce his seizures from 1 every 10 seconds to 3-4 seizures a week. Though this is a significant reduction, unfortunately he's still experiencing frequent seizure activity.
As a parent and caregiver to my son, my wife and I need your help to find better solutions to reduce if not stop his seizure activity. As part of our effort to raise much-needed funding for the Epilepsy Foundation, we humbly ask for your financial support of our campaign in whatever amount you would like to contribute. Since our effort to raise funds and awareness involves running a marathon (26.2 miles), we suggest that a contribution in the amount of $26.20 would be meaningful. All donations through this page will go directly to the Epilepsy Foundation of America. While we are not tax professionals, your donation may also be tax deductible. Consult your tax professional for details.
We thank you and look forward to your support in being a "champion" for Carson.
Sincerely, Ray and Amy Gerace
