BENEFITING: Sea Research Foundation Inc.
EVENT DATE: Feb 18, 2017
From finding and rescuing my first cold-stunned Kemps Ridley Turtle in Amagansett to spending an overnight on the beach with a seal in East Hampton and all the amazing opportunites I have had to witness Marine Rescue professionals in action I am taking the plunge to benefit the Marine Rescue Team at Mystic Aquarium. Feb happens to be the coldest month of the year with the average water temp of 36. So... I thought that would be a great number to donate... but feel free to give what you can in support of the Seal Splash!
Enjoy the “coolest” event of the year for a good cause!
Mystic Aquarium’s Animal Rescue Team acts as first responders for animals in need along the 1,000 miles of coastline throughout CT, RI and Fishers Island, NY. Our team of staff and volunteers provide specialized and compassionate care for the rehabilitation of stranded and injured animals with the ultimate goal of releasing them back into their natural habitat. To date the Aquarium has responded to more than 1,500 stranded seals, whales, dolphins, porpoises, sea turtles and even a manatee.
