Join the fun at the fourth annual Nick’s Run, benefitting Angels for Athletes!
New for 2016, we’ve enhanced the course and are adding the Double Challenge & Happy Feet Kids Run. Test your merit with the Double Challenge, which is a 10K (6.2 miles) followed by a 5K (3.1 miles), 90 minutes after you start the 10K – the two times are combined for the ultimate finishers award! Or, come out and run/walk the 5K or 10K, we have the options for you!
All events are open to any runners, walkers, crawlers and anyone who would like to participate.
Nick’s Run was started in 2013 after 16 year-old Nick Vogel was seriously injured in a hockey accident. Nick’s bravery in the minutes, days and weeks following his accident was inspirational to those around him. Just 9 weeks after the incident, he was on the ice playing the game he so passionately loved; the same game that almost took his life. It’s the hope of Angels for Athletes to create that same passion in the children they sponsor.
Angels for Athletes (AFA) was formed as an organization for the community by the community. At AFA, we envision a world of happy, healthy, and self-confident kids, and we believe that childhood participation in sports of all kinds helps to provide these invaluable lifelong benefits.
