As you may already be aware, Nepal (our home country) has been hit by a series of earthquakes in the past 5-6 days. Our families are safe but others were not so lucky. The death toll is already near 6,000 and is expected to go up as the dust settles after this devastating event. Thousands have been injured, countless families have lost their homes. The survivors are in need of basic humanitarian help like food, water, warm clothes, tents, etc. Fortunately there are a number of organizations helping but they need funds in order to support their missions.
There are a few organizations that are currently working to raise donations and make it available for the relief efforts. One that we personally recommend is Help Nepal Network. I have been part of the team in the past and together we have raised numerous funds to support schools and healthcare institutions. Help Nepal Network is a registered 501(c)3 charity in the U.S., so donations are tax deductible. They are also very transparent with how and where the donation money is utilized, with 100% of the donations going towards the relief efforts. This is possible because their admin cost is covered by other means and not deducted from any donations received.
Every penny counts ($1 =Rs 100), so no donation amount is too small – your contribution can help to make an impact in the lives of these victims. Any help is greatly appreciated!
