For my bar mitzvah project, I wanted to help Travis Roy with his mission to raise money for spinal cord research and give people with spinal cord injuries the things they need to live fulfilling lives. I wanted to do a project related to baseball, which is one of my favorite sports. While getting to know Travis, I realized how important his foundation is to many people. I played in the Travis Roy Foundation WIFFLE Ball Tournament in Vermont last summer and loved it. I thought it would be really fun to do a similar event with kids. I hope this tournament helps more people know about the foundation. I also hope to raise $1200 or more!
Also, I am amping my efforts by partnering with Positive Tracks – an organization that helps young people make change using the power of athletics. In addition to supporting me and my effort, they are doubling the dollars I raise for (organization or cause) up to $1,000! Visit http://www.positivetracks.org
Please consider making a team, joining a team, making a donation, or helping me reach my goal by sharing this on social media or coming to cheer at my event!
Or, even better, send an email to friends who might be interested in participating or contributing, and include a link to my page.
