The Story

EVENT DATE: Jun 23, 2017

Mount Rainier, at 14,410 feet, is the most extensively glaciated volcanic peak in the continental United States. The combination of high altitude, route choices, and Northwest weather make this a truly unique experience. The guides of Sierra Mountaineering International will help you meet this incredible challenge. Before you begin your three-day summit climb, you will spend a day in Climbing School. Our Climbing School offers aspiring mountaineers a comprehensive overview of mountaineering techniques that begin to meet the challenges set forth by this magnificent mountain. It’s a great introduction or refresher course if you haven’t been in the mountains for a while. The day after Climbing School, you will begin your two-day summit climb on Rainier. The climb is an incredible experience regardless of weather conditions.

How does it work?

You pay a non-refundable registration fee & agree to fundraise $4,500 to climb Mount Rainier. BCM pays your guide fee of $1,300 (of course you can donate an additional $1,050 if you want all the funds you raise to go to BCM!). Then you fundraise up to your goal & spread the word about BCM, and go on an awesome climb!

For more information on this trip, including the equipment you need, the itinerary, and more, please see the Mount Rainier page on the Big City Mountaineers' website.
