BENEFITING: MINDS MATTER
ORGANIZER: MINDS MATTER
EVENT DATE: Nov 02, 2014
There is simply no better feeling than pushing yourself to achieve a goal, then eventually getting there. It's just as much about the journey and the months of training hard, the friendships you forge along the way and the growth you feel as a person as it is about the destination, race day.
Running a marathon is not a challenge you can tackle without the support of your friends and family, and I'm incredibly fortunate to have the most wonderful people in my life.
The 2014 New York City marathon will be my second marathon. I ran the Melbourne Marathon in 2012, it was special for many reasons, mostly because Melbourne, Australia is my home city. I feel very lucky to have the opportunity to run another marathon, this time in my adopted home city of NYC. I'm so excited to strive towards this and build on my 6 month New York journey so far.
What makes this whole experience all the more amazing is this time around I'll be running on behalf of Minds Matter, a charity that helps underprivileged kids get a great education so they can make a difference in the world. I think everyone deserves this opportunity, so thank you for being part of my journey. Looking forward to seeing you at the finish line.
