Hi all, Many of you who know me and are reading this may be shocked to learn that I'm running a marathon. I agree that it is highly unlikely! But, likely or not, the fact is that on November 6th 2016 I'll be running the New York marathon to raise money for the Melanoma Education Foundation. Growing up in New York, I was always drawn to the marathon. I'd read all the news articles about locals training for it, look at slideshows of the route, go out and cheer for my aunt when she ran it, and ask people who had done it whether the 59th Street Bridge really is as hard as everyone says. I've never been a strong athlete, but the marathon inspired me to start running in Summer 2014 (when I couldn't even run a mile without stopping!), and that motivation has kept me going. My aunt who used to run the marathon died on New Years Day eight years ago after all-too-short battle with melanoma. It is therefore especially significant for me to be not only running the race that she used to run in my beloved hometown, but also raising money for a charity that can hopefully prevent what happened to her. Please support me in this goal!
