MSD 2016 Pay-It-Forward Campaign
Our Wish Children:
Brenda is a happy 18 year old girl who loves being outdoors and listening to the birds sing. Just like many other girls her age, Brenda loves to meet new people and is very friendly. However, unlike most kids her age, Brenda is battling a neurological disorder and chronic pancreatitis. Brenda's wish is to go to Disney World, where she will be able to do the things she loves most, such and being with people and watching all the movement and commotion. Although her wish will not cure Brenda, while visiting Disney World, Brenda and her family will be able to focus on having a normal family vacation filled with fun and laughter.
Aiden is a happy 7-year-old boy who loves watching Mickey Mouse and Paw Patrol and his favorite colors are red and blue. Unlike most kids his age, Aiden is battling a chromosome 3 partial deletion that can cause developmental difficulties. Aiden’s wish is to have a more comfortable in-home hospital bed with lights, toys, and Mickey Mouse sheets. For Aiden, this new bed will be so much more than just a bed. This experience will give him the opportunity to be comfortable while spending time with his family.
Who We Are:
Future Forward 2017, MSD’s First Annual Healthcare Innovation & Technology Conference took place January 17-21 in Scottsdale, AZ. This “never before” industry event actively set the landscape for healthcare providers, manufacturers, healthcare technology companies, and industry thought leaders to engage in discussions and generate active thoughts that impact the future of healthcare.
MSD’s mission is to make healthcare work better for our patients, families, communities, and one another. Last year, MSD collaborated with Make-A-Wish to raise $8,000, the average cost of a heartfelt wish, through our Pay It Forward Campaign. MSD partnered with Make-A-Wish because our values and strategies align. It is through the power of a wish that children are able to gain the hope, strength and joy that they need to battle their life-threatening conditions. A wish can have an impact on not only the Wish Child, but also on their families and local communities. MSD employees rallied around Brenda and raised $9,500 so Brenda and her family could enjoy Disney World together.
MSD wrapped up the campaign and the Future Forward Conference with a closing keynote from Doug Kelly, President and CEO of Make-A-Wish Foundation. After Doug inspired the crowd, MSD CEO, Tom Burke offered to grant another wish by challenging our conference participants to give back.
Please help us in granting another wish on behalf of the Future Forward Conference. Can’t wait to see you next year!
