Help represent Lincoln Park Zoo as a member of Team LPZoo 26.2, our first-ever team of runners in the Bank of America Chicago Marathon on Sunday, October 13. Your participation will help provide support for animal care, wildlife conservation and public programs at Chicago’s free zoo. Help keep America's oldest privately funded zoo free for all. Donate to LPZoo 26.2!
This October, I will be taking part in the Bank of America Chicago
Marathon, running on behalf of Lincoln Park Zoo’s LPZoo 26.2 marathon
team. I will be running my first ever marathon and I am sure most of you just had the initial thoughts of “WHY?!?”
or “Your Crazy!”, and truth be told I first thought “I’m Crazy!” As
you may or may not know I have recently moved to Chicago, Illinois for my
new job. I have been very lucky to see so much of the city so far.
Some of my adventures have led me to Cubs games, Bears games, Hawks,
games, the Shedd Aquarium, the museum of science and Industry, and
the Willis Towers’ Sky Deck. Out of all the things I have done my
favorite place here is the Lincoln Park Zoo for many reasons, but most
importantly it’s FREE! I have always been an animal lover to have this
Zoo in the heart of the city has helped me cope with the transition of
moving into a big city. There is nothing better then seeing a polar bear playing in fresh snow, or a hippo dancing in the water. Supporting the Lincoln Park Zoo is an honor and I can not wait to reach my goal and give back this amazing place.
