BENEFITING: Keep a Child Alive
ORGANIZER: Keep a Child Alive
EVENT DATE: Nov 06, 2016
Hello there beautiful family and friends!
As many of you know, I've been volunteering with Keep a Child Alive for a few years now! Each year, I've been blessed with the opportunity to participate as a volunteer for the incredible Black Ball annual gala and I am a 2 time charity runner of the 5 Boro Bike Tour Team. Each time I've met amazing individuals and learned about the huge impact that KCA has had on their life and how it has touched and saved lives around the world. I was first introduced to the nonprofit when attended an Alicia Keys concert where I donated through a text to give during the intermission. Upon researching KCA, my passion to support and give back my time and efforts grew fonder when I saw what they were doing and how they were impacting the HIV community. I’ve always dreamt of running in the marathon. Today, I’d like to share that dreams come true. I will be running in the TCS New York City Marathon with KCA. The best part of this, is that I will be running for something that is so near and dear to my heart.
I’d like to share why this is so important to me. 90% of children living with HIV worldwide are from sub-Saharan Africa. That's a pretty outrageous number, but it's one that KCA believes they can help to change. They work in some of the countries hardest hit by the HIV epidemic to ensure access to life-saving treatment and the comprehensive care needed for a long healthy life.
100% of your generous giving that we will raise over the next few months will go directly towards helping KCA change the lives of children affected by HIV. It will ensure they have access to treatment, nutrition; counseling and youth support groups, educational assistance, skills training, and even yoga and music classes to 70,000 children and families affected by HIV in Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda, South Africa, and India.
Making a donation is easy! You can click on the Donate button on this page to give through my secure fundraising site. You can also find information there about where to write a check, or how to get your company to match your gift! All contributions are tax-deductible. On November 6th 2016 I pledge to finish this race and run 26.2 miles towards the light in the fight of HIV. On this day, I will think of your generosity, kindness, and support you've all brought to my life each day and most importantly, the difference that together as one we will be making in Africa and India.
Whether you are a runner, supporter, or a potential donor, I hope you will join me to further this great cause in any way you can.
In advance, thank you from the bottom of heart!
Bless you & LOVE always,
