BENEFITING: American Red Cross
EVENT: Tour du Rouge

THE STORY:
This year I will be participating for the first time in the annual Tour du Rouge. This is a fund raiser for the American Red Cross and consist of riding a bike from Houston to New Orleans over a period of 6 days. The distance of the ride is 530 miles which is an average of 88 miles per day.
This ride is 3-8 May which is prior to hurricane season. All funds raised for the ride will go to support the Red Cross along the gulf coast during the hurricane season. The Red Cross has a long history of providing great support in crises after hurricanes with no governmental funding. And that support does have a significant cost.
All donations are a charitable tax deduction so those of you wanting to reduce your taxes here is your opportunity. Additionally many companies match your donation so you can help your company or employer reduce their taxes as well.
If I can ride that many miles at my age and (lack of) physical condition, you can make a small donation to the Red Cross.
Thanks
