Help Just Food bring good food within reach for a family in need.
CSA connects New Yorkers to fresh and delicious local food while providing a financial anchor for small farms throughout the region. CSAs also build community, bringing neighbors together to celebrate the weekly harvest.
Help us reach our $10,000 goal by May 7th to ensure that 65 families can join their neighborhood CSA. To help us reach this goal, Liz Neumark and fellow Just Food Board Member Alison Cayne have pledged to match contributions up to $5,000.
"Twenty years ago, Just Food launched the CSA movement in New York City, and I am so proud of our visionary pioneers. We are committed to ensuring that our network of 100+ CSAs remains accessible. Just Food's ability to provide subsidized shares is one critical piece of the puzzle in making sure all New Yorkers have access to fresh, healthy food," says Liz Neumark, Just Food Board Member and Great Performances CEO.
About the Just Share Campaign
In many NYC neighborhoods, CSA is the most affordable way to procure fresh, organic, locally grown food. In some areas, it is the only way.
For a family on food stamps, CSA can be a great option - if we can make sure it's accessible.
To meet this need, Just Food created Just Share: an initiative that lowers the price of CSA membership by matching payments made with food stamp (aka SNAP) benefits.
CSA is more than just a box of veggies.
