BENEFITING: Take A Breather Foundation
ORGANIZER: THE IRONMAN FOUNDATION
This October I am competing in the 2014 IRONMAN World Championship in Hawaii. It's a triathlon where I'll be pushing through 140.6 miles nonstop with a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, and 26.2 mile run.
I want to put meaning behind every mile by supporting a fantastic organization called Take A Breather (TAB). The Take A Breather Foundation grants wishes for children who have been touched by Cystic Fibrosis(CF). The mission is to give these children the opportunity to "take a breather" from their disease and focus on creating magical memories with their families, that will stay with them for a lifetime. Memories that will strengthen their hearts and minds as they battle the psychological, emotional and economic turmoil that accompanies life with Cystic Fibrosis.
My connection to CF began over 35 years ago when I had two childhood friends with CF, one of whom passed away at a very young age. My other friend, Matt, now 45, living with the disease, founded Take A Breather, knowing what it was like as a child to live with cystic fibrosis.
My goal is to raise $50 for every mile I cover to reach my target of $7030.00. All of the money I raise will go directly to the Take A Breather Foundation and will fund wishes for children with cystic fibrosis.
Please consider making a donation today and help me make a difference for these children.
