BENEFITING: IAN SOMERHALDER FOUNDATION
ORGANIZER: IAN SOMERHALDER FOUNDATION
EVENT DATE: Apr 16, 2012
I know this is weird for me. I've never been one to use social media in this way. But I'm on a new kick. The kind of kick where I stop worrying about myself and start worrying about things that matter. When I realized I needed to do that, the thing that was closest to my heart was the environment. Nature has always been the one place where I can go to feel almost at peace. I can sit on the beach at night and stare up at the sky and feel calm and natural and real. I even remember being younger and searching out isolated places in forests near my house and just sitting there thinking, contemplating and relaxing.
I want to be sure that generations to come can enjoy feeling the same way, especially in times when life seems hard, too hard to handle, and they are looking for a momentary escape. But with CO2 and fossil fuel emissions causing climate change that is getting more and more serious everyday, that picture of the future is getting harder to envision.
I've started making changes at home; using less plastic, reducing my waste, learning about ways I can recycle more. But I want to have a greater impact and I can't do that on my own. ISF is a great foundation that does research and helps not only the environment, but its animals as well. You can read below to find out more, but please think about the future and your children and think about giving to this great cause.

The IS FOUNDATION aims to empower, educate and collaborate with people and projects to positively impact the planet and its creatures.
The global problems and challenges we are facing are infinitely interconnected and co-dependent, therefore our solutions and actions must be enacted in an interconnected manner. There are numerous causes, many campaigns and organizations aiming to encourage change but how many of these organizations team up to become a united spirit of change? We are a family, a group of people who view the environment as an interconnected organism. There is no differentiation between all living things: trees, rivers, animals and humans. We are all one interdependent organism.
ISF supporters are a kick ass bunch of peeps. From young children to Grandparents, standing together, supporting each other with each generations' strengths, collectively combining passions, skills and leadership into one massive population of change makers. Our ISF Groups span across all continents, creeds, languages and passions, forming an ever growing family of more than 200 groups world wide, all working as a united force to radically transform the world. Where people who love the planet and those who hold hands with paws come together to create a real future for all life on this miraculous planet we call Earth.
When you give to ISF, you give to generational change. Empower each of us to become the leaders this world needs to see.
