BENEFITING: FRIENDS OF THE NATURE CONSERVANCY OF CANADA INC
EVENT DATE: Jun 19, 2015
As an American who plays hockey in Canada, and loves the outdoors, I was pretty impressed with the idea that with one donation I could help build a legacy of protected lands in Canada that support migratory birds in the U.S. and Canada.
When I heard that every U.S. sourced dollar donated to support this Canadian conservation work could be matched 3 to 1, well, I had to reach out to all the Canadians I know in the U.S.
This match means a $1,000 gift turns into $4,000 of results! A $5,000 gift into $20,000!
Who doesn't like the idea of helping nature, protecting land (forever) and magnifying the impact of any gift times four?!
Hockey is one of the many things that link Canada and the U.S. Our two countries are also linked by nature. I didn't know that close to 70 per cent of North America’s waterfowl are estimated to breed in Canada. But it is a great example of why conservation work in Canada is relevant to the U.S.
Northern Pintail, Ring-necked duck and many more species that fill the skies in the U.S., rely upon Canadian wetlands for their survival. It is all connected.
Good 4 the birds. Good for Nature. Good for the U.S. Good for Canada.
