Meet The Herren Project 2014 Boston MarathonTeam:
Christopher Herren, Founder of The Herren Project
In 2011, I founded The Herren Project with the goal of reaching one person and making a positive difference in the lives of individuals and families touched by addiction. On April 21st I will be running the 2014 Boston Marathon on behalf of The Herren Project and all those who have joined together to stand up to substance abuse and to increase awareness on the signs of addiction.
Please join me and the Herren Project team as we seek to provide assistance in taking the first steps toward recovery and a life of sobriety, educational programs and resources to increase awareness on the signs of addiction and bring hope for a better tomorrow.
Kevin Mikolazyk, President of The Herren Project
As a person in long term recovery I have run many road races and competed in Spartan runs and Tough Mudder races. I look forward to the challenge of running the Boston Marathon and raising funds for an organization I feel so passionate about. As President of The Herren Project I see first-hand the number of people assisted through our programs and initiatives. Join me as I run the Boston Marathon to support The Herren Project’s mission and programs one person, one family at a time.
Pamela Hogue, Chicago, IL
Running has been a passion of mine for many years and step by step it has been a vital tool in my road to recovery. As a member of The Herren Project Boston Marathon team, I hope to inspire others to see the beauty in life by stepping out in faith and running for an organization I believe in. Please join me as I stand up, seek to make a difference, run in honor of all those touched by addiction and celebrate life. Step by step we can make a difference!
Gabriel Torres, Somerville, MA
Working in the field of recovery, I have seen first-hand the devastating effects addiction can have on a person and their loved ones. I live my life to help others, embracing the gift of recovery and believe in the work The Herren Project is doing through treatment navigation, education and mentoring. I am running the Boston Marathon for all those who struggle or have been touched by addiction, for those who have found the road to recovery and continue to embrace life one day at a time.
