WFH is building a fund to bring 3 healing ministers to the May 20-23, 2013 International Order of St Luke's the Physician - Regional 36th Annual Healing Conference at Shrinemont in Orkney Springs, VA - Themed "Surrendering to Abba’s Love"
One of the 6 workshops: WEDNESDAY WORKSHOP 1:30 P.M. - The Compassion of God: How Celtic Christian Spirituality Informs Our Practice of Healing Ministry
Many Christians today are discovering great treasures in the values and practices of the Celtic Christian tradition (especially from the 5th to 7th centuries in the British Isles). Participants will explore some of these values and practices (e.g., the immanence of God; use of the senses, imagery, and imagination in prayer, among others) and consider how they might shape our practice of whole person healing ministry today.
THE ORDER OF ST LUKE REGION 2: The Order of St. Luke the Physician (OSL) is a worldwide body believing in and teaching about the ministry of Christian Healing. OSL seeks to work with all of the medical and counseling disciplines believing that Christ wants us to have access to different approaches to healing. There will be several healing services and opportunities to talk with knowledgeable people about any needs that you may have.
Shrine Mont Conference Center in Orkney Springs, VA, provides an escape from the pressures of everyday life. You can relax here and grow in the grace of God. It is a place for rest, devotion, fellowship, inspiration, reflection, recreation and healing.
Guestrooms are provided in the Maryland House adjacent to the hotel and conference site (Virginia House). Delicious home-style cooking in the Southern tradition, served in abundance, is a hallmark of Shrine Mont's hospitality. The meals are served buffet style in the Virginia House dining room.
There is some free time each day. There are interesting places to walk. If adventurous, hike up to the top of the mountain to view the cross and the beautiful landscape. The Shrine Mont bookstore is open each day with many interesting selections including items of local interest.
I included 3 scholarships between $100-299 per person with a cushion to pay for online services and other WFH fees - standard 20% overhead fee (at least while WFH builds as a financially self-sufficient nonprofit, it may go down once established - WFH received final Federal 501c3 status in mid March 2013).
