The Story

EVENT DATE: Jul 12, 2017

The First Tee of Greater Seattle is hosting its 2nd annual Junior-Golf-A-Thon! Taking place July 12-13 and organized by the Junior Advisory Board, young people are invited to play as many holes as they can while raising scholarships so more kids can participate in The First Tee!

One of The First Tee's objectives are Healthy Habits! So lets get our family and friends together to get plenty of exercise while you play endless golf. Caddies are welcome but not required.

It’s a $25 registration fee and players are asked to raise a minimum of $50 in pledges to secure a spot in a full day of golf. Players simply register for a time slot, raise the $50 minimum (or more, in order to compete for great prizes) and then play as many holes of golf as possible before dusk. Pledges can come from friends, family, neighbors and classmates by linking to a player’s on-line donation page.

The top fundraiser wins an XBOX One, and the player who brings in the most number of donors wins a Sounders soccer ball signed by the entire team and a signed Sounders game jersey. There will also be a Mariner's ticket package prize for the player who play the most number of holes. And there will be fun for everyone!

The First Tee of Greater Seattle teaches more than golf. The First Tee’s curriculum uses golf to teach important communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills and seeks to instill The First Tee’s Nine Core Values of Honesty, Integrity, Sportsmanship, Respect, Confidence, Responsibility, Perseverance, Courtesy & Judgment. The First Tee of Greater Seattle’s mission is to positively impact the lives of young people by providing educational programs that promote character-development and life enhancing values through the game of golf. Programming is offered weekly at 6 area golf courses. The First Tee of Greater Seattle serves more than 1,700 young people each year with over 55% of youth being from ethnically diverse backgrounds and 33% receiving full scholarships to participate.
