THE GREAT SURNAME SHOWDOWN
Forty million people worldwide have Alzheimer's.
This terrible disease stole our grandfather. He was the kindest man we knew, with the warmest smile. He continued smiling even as Alzheimer’s began to take hold. But his mind disappeared slowly, then quickly, and then he was gone.
My family pledged to fight Alzheimer’s so we created the GREAT SURNAME SHOWDOWN for families around the globe to battle this killer.
Join our worldwide contest to see which family name can raise the most money to fight Alzheimer’s. Will it be the Smiths? The Jacksons? The Timberlakes? The [YOUR NAME HERE]?
Team up with those around the globe who share your last name. They could be close cousins. Or distant cousins. Or just people who happen to have the same last name. If they share your last name, you are teammates. Find, join, set-up or simply donate to your family name fundraisig team NOW!
Which family name is the most generous? Who will help most in battling this disease that robs families of their memories and loved ones.
PRIZES awarded for:
1) The family name that raises the most money total
2) The family name that raises the most money per capita (so take heart, rare surnames!)
3) The family name that has the most team-members with donations.
Live-streamed awards ceremony will be presented on June 6th at the Global Family Reunion, a first-ever event and benefit celebrating the fact that we are one Big Family.
The Great Surname Showdown is an integral part of the Global Family Reunion bringing families together in world record-breaking event but also in raising awareness and funds for Alzheimer's support. In addition to funds raised with the Great Surname Showdown, all proceeds after covering the cost of the event go to the Cure Alzheimer’s Fund and Alzheimer’s Association NYC.
