Boston - Round 2
I am ELATED to be running for Team GSEM for the second year in a row! My teammates may have changed, but the goal is still the same - to raise money that will serve 35,000 Girl Scouts in 178 communities in Eastern Massachusetts!
The Girl Scouts is such an amazing program that helps develop girls into our future leaders by instilling the values of courage, confidence, and character. I would not be the fearless woman I am today if not for my years as a Girl Scout. I was shown that "girls can do anything" and I hope that I can pass this message along to this generation of Girl Scouts through my commitment to Team GSEM!

Run like a Girl Scout and help us continue to build girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place!
Join Team Girl Scouts in raising funds for GSEM’s health and wellness initiatives, which educate girls on how to stay healthy and keep moving! We teach girls about empowerment through sports and the importance of both nutrition and activity.
For more than 100 years, Girl Scouts has been delivering diverse out-of-school programs to girls with a mission to build girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place. Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts (GSEM) was incorporated in 2008 when three independent councils merged and currently serves 35,000 girls in grades K-12 and approximately 15,000 adult volunteers annually from 178 communities in eastern Massachusetts, establishing it as the largest girl-serving leadership development organization in the Commonwealth.
Working in partnership with a team of adult volunteers, GSEM provides high quality leadership development and educational programming to girls through troops and interest groups, in neighborhood and community program facilities, in schools, and as part of many after-school programs. Girl Scouting provides opportunities and experiences as diverse as the girls we serve. While girls are having fun and making new friends, they are also learning. Age-appropriate lessons on health and wellness, financial literacy, peer pressure, and self-esteem are all common themes in Girl Scouting. In addition, our outdoor programs and camps, which offer activities such as swimming, sailing, creative arts, horseback riding, drama, archery, and ropes courses help nurture a love of the environment and encourage girls to respect and preserve the world around them. Our programming is safe and fun, and helps girls to feel good about themselves, try new things, and experience activities to which they may not normally have access.
To ensure girls of all abilities and backgrounds have equal access to the Girl Scout Leadership Experience, GSEM offers inclusive programming, financial aid, camperships, and a staff-led program, FaB Factor, in 14 under-resourced communities.
All Girl Scout programming is aimed towards providing girls with the Girl Scout Leadership Experience. The Girl Scout Leadership Experience model engages girls in discovering themselves, connecting with others, and taking action to make the world a better place. Girl Scout experiences are also, as much as possible, girl-led and we encourage learning by doing and cooperation. Through the Girl Scout experience, GSEM seeks to ensure girls we serve are prepared with the skills and attitude they need to be successful in youth, and later in life, and to re-define what is possible for themselves and for girls and women everywhere
