BENEFITING: FORSYTH Institute
ORGANIZER: FORSYTH Institute
EVENT: Boston Marathon 2014
EVENT DATE: Apr 21, 2014
I'm the newest member of Forsyth's marathon team and am excited to be representing the institute and to be a part of this amazing race! I've been at Forsyth since 2007, working in Dr. Bruce Paster's lab in the Department of Microbiology, and now also help with technology transfer and marketing of Forsyth's intellectual property.
I've been a runner since middle school, and have recently gotten into triathlons. Even though I was technically a "distance" runner in middle/high school, I've never been on a run longer than 10 or so miles. I love my 5Ks, maybe a 10K here and there, but this will be my first marathon!!! For me, running is often meditative and peaceful, and a way for me to simply zone out and clear my head. I think the 26.2 miles will give me plenty of time to do that.
By supporting our runners you are supporting the passionate scientists and their innovative research that benefits us all. You are supporting our clinical trials that improve the health of all of us and you are supporting ForsythKids that brings smiles to the faces of thousands of inner-city, Boston children every year.
