BENEFITING: MORNING STAR DEVELOPMENT
EVENT DATE: May 28, 2014
*Be sure to read through to the end... your initials could soon permanently embroider my foot!
May 3, 2014 is my 28th birthday! Please help me ring in the new year by helping me sponsor 28 families in 28 days through a non-profit community and economic development organization I have been blessed to partner with for 3 years.
Morning Star Development is committed to helping the people of Afghanistan rebuild their country and their lives by offering practical hope and resources. They focus on bringing transformational change to the people of Afghanistan through sustainable economic and community development initiatives.
My dream is to one day in the near future visit these communities and teach information strategy to the amazingly strong and beautiful Afghan women, but until that day comes, will you join me in bringing hope and physical assistance via Morning Star Development?
If we raise the grand total goal of $5,040 to sponsor 28 families in 28 days, I commit to tattooing my ankle (and covering a battle wound from a fierce Spartan Race mud run) with the words "Forza E Bellezza" ("Strength and Beauty" in Italian, as found in Proverbs 31:25).
PLUS ... Whether you can sponsor a family for a year, only give a little, or or sponsor several families, every thing counts! Pretend you bought me a birthday coffee - goodness knows I could use a java break now and again! ;-)
The person who either A) gives the most, or B) can show that his/her advocacy spread the word, inviting others to give to the cause, and was the most impactful, will have their initial(s) highlighted in the tattoo! A permanent reminder of your kindness (sorry - no full names... I can't be walking around in the nursing home thinking, "Who the heck was Penelope?? Wait, is that me?").
Text/call/email/pepper me with questions or any ideas on how we can spread the word about this amazing organization + KEEP ME POSTED on the awareness we raise. I can't wait to walk/run/jump this journey with you all, and live wholeheartedly this year of 28 (which, in my understanding of Biblical numerological meanings, is associated with the expectancy of obtaining some type of divine strength and courage - excellent timing, I'd say!).
