Patterns in families are something that a child learns. Family/domestic violence, power and control is often about money and material things. If we teach our youth how to change the pattern, learn financial responsibility, then the pattern will be broken. When a woman makes the decision to leave, her first thought is how will I make it financially. Our program brings financial literacy through group and individual counseling. Power comes from being able to overcome the trauma and make steps to a pattern of security and happiness. Financial empowerment brings relief in understanding how and where the income will be there. Children learn patterns from their environment. We change the environment through positive, healthy choices.
