BENEFITING: Puget Soundkeeper Alliance
EVENT: Aveda Earth Month 2014
Our mission at Aveda is to care for the world we live in, from the products we make to the ways in which we give back to society. At Aveda, we strive to set an example for environmental leadership and responsibility, not just in the world of beauty, but around the world.
With our Mission in mind, we’re once again excited to be fundraising for the Puget Soundkeeper Alliance (PSA) at Bellevue Square Aveda. Living in the Puget Sound area we are reminded of the majestic natural beauty that surrounds us all every day. The Puget Soundkeeper’s mission is to protect and preserve the waters of Puget Sound by monitoring, cleaning up and preventing pollutants from entering its waters. More info at www.pugetsoundkeeper.org
To accomplish its mission the PSA actively monitors Puget Sound through kayak patrols and use of the Soundkeeper patrol boat. They vigorously engage government agencies and businesses working to regulate pollution discharges, and enforce the Clean Water Act of 1972 by using the power granted to citizens to sue under provisions of the Act. Lastly, and certainly not least, the PSA accomplishes their mission by enlisting a network of trained volunteers to detect and report pollution, by engaging citizens, just like you and me.
We’re proud to be supporting such a reputable organization with a 100% success record and one that has filed over 150 cases. With your help we can ensure that our waterways are protected.
“An individual has not started living until he can rise above the narrow confines of his individualistic concerns to the broader concerns of all humanity.” –Dr Martin Luther King.
Keeping those words in mind, we invite you to explore our fundraising pages to see each team member’s passion and personal efforts to help fundraise for local clean water. After all, Puget Sound is a resource for us all regardless of where we work, live and play. Thank you in advance for your time and consideration of our efforts. It’s our pleasure to provide an opportunity for you to protect something so basic and essential for our existence; local clean water.
