It’s about time to come home, to see the real Detroit. Find new opportunities to RECONNECT. RECHARGE. REINVEST.
That's why a coalition of partners, led by Crain's Detroit Business, created The Detroit Homecoming in 2014. More than 150 "expatriates" came home in September to re-engage in Detroit. Keep the momentum going! This year’s invitation-only Homecoming is Sept. 30-Oct. 2. Leaders in private equity, venture capital, commercial real estate, technology and other industries are taking part.
Whether you were born in Detroit or attended school in or around the city or worked here in the past, you can have your own impact on your hometown. Check out the stories at www.detroithomecoming.com and review these charitable options.
Expats have organized to champion these causes – helping homeless students attending Detroit schools; buying a new vehicle for the crew that investigates 5,000 animal cruelty cases a year; fixing the leaky roof on the aquarium at Belle Isle; helping Detroit PAL create a “field of dreams” for kids on the old Tiger Stadium site – and many more.
The causes that raise the most money by midnight Thursday, Oct. 1, will win special grants, as much as $25,000 more!
Give back to your home town! Learn about the new Detroit narrative … and come home to experience it for yourself.
