www.AinsleysAngels.org is thrilled to help ensure Conlan can soon roll with the wind in comfort!
With your generosity, we are certain this can happen soon! As the father of two very special girls that race together with me, I know that the positive energy surrounding the start line, the togetherness of every member preparing to "roll with the wind", the fearlessness of the athletes, the normalcy of the family, and the love we all have for each other is a therapy like no other.
A message from Chryssy:
The Freedom Running Chair is a very heartfelt piece of equipment to my family for several reasons. First, inclusion. Conlan is diagnosed with spastic quadriplegic. He is nonverbal and non-ambulatory but has a smile that speaks a thousand words. He was born into this world fighting for his life at 29 weeks and hasn’t stopped putting up a fight since! Unfortunately, he is never able to participate in sports or running events because of this. He deserves to be in races and feel the wind against him, he loves being pushed fast in his wheelchair now - his contagious smile and giggles are nothing short of letting us know! Second, for the first time we will be able to participate in a sporting event as a family which includes his little sister. Without this chair we will never be able to do any type of sport together. Since their chair is made to last into adulthood it will last us a lifetime and even when I can’t run anymore Sophie and Conlan will be able to have a sibling event they both love ♥ Conlan does not fit in a jogging stroller anymore and attempting to run a race in his adapted stroller is dangerous and if his chair was to become damaged for whatever reason (since it is not made for running) Conlan would be without a wheelchair - which is impossible. So this is not a risk we should take. Just another reason we are so thankful for the invention of the Freedom Running Chair. Not only does Conlan deserve to participate in races but we all deserve to be able to do it together. After long consideration after picking from 3 objects to fundraise from the Freedom Running Chair will be most beneficial to Conlan and give him the freedom he so badly deserves to have! Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts. Without everyone involved this will not be possible.
