BENEFITING: CONCERN FOUNDATION
ORGANIZER: CONCERN FOUNDATION
EVENT DATE: Nov 03, 2013
Dear Friends and Family,
Welcome and thank you for taking the time to visit my fundraising page. I am truly humbled to be representing such a fantastic organization, and I am extremely grateful for all your support as I train for my first marathon (which is a pretty daunting task given I've ran in excess of 5 miles maybe a handful of times).
This year, and hopefully many more to come, I am running and fundraising on behalf of the Concern Foundation. My relationship with Concern has extremely deep roots, as I've been an active volunteer for nearly 15 years and plan to continue this relationship for years to come. However, my ties to Concern extend far beyond my volunteer work, as their mission to find a cure for cancer has a special place in my heart.
As many of you know, when I was 7 years old, my dad was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor. Despite receiving some of the best treatment UCLA Medical had to offer, they were only able to remove 99% of the tumor. Unfortunately, that 1% eventually regrew on an inoperable location on the brain. Sadly, like many others, my father lost his battle with cancer in 1996.
So I'm asking you today to please join me in my current 26.2 mile (and forever counting) pursuit to help raise money to eventually find a cure for this terrible disease.
In addition to making a contribution, if you could forward this on to those friends and family of yours that you think would appreciate this story, or be willing to help, I would be so grateful.
Thank you for your support!
