Hi everyone! I've been given the chance to travel to Ghana this summer as a fellow with an amazing non-profit organization called Community Water Solutions (www.communitywatersolutions.org). CWS works with rural villages to implement water treatment systems to bring clean water to those in need.
My work as a fellow is to raise $3000 that will be used to build and maintain the water treatment system that I'm going to start during my fellowship. CWS trains local women to run a for-profit business with the treatment system, which ensures the longevity of the project's impact. All CWS treatment systems are still in use today!
Approximately 1 in 8 people lack access to safe water supplies, and nearly 1 out of every 5 deaths under the age of 5 worldwide is due to a water-related disease. CWS is taking a realistic approach to tackling the world's water crisis. Any donation you make directly helps give a community clean water, no matter how small or large it is!
